Snugnote

Getting started with Snugnote

Snugnote guide · Updated November 6, 2026

Snugnote is a cozy, Notion-style notebook that saves every page as a file in your own Google Drive or Dropbox. Here's how to go from zero to your first page in about five minutes.

1. Pick where your notes live

Go to snugnote.app and choose Continue with Google or Continue with Dropbox. That account is where your notes will be stored. There's no separate Snugnote account and no password to remember.

On first sign-in, Snugnote creates one folder called Snugnote in your storage (in Dropbox it's Apps › Snugnote) and fills it with a welcome page and a few examples. Snugnote only ever touches that folder.

2. Look around

3. Write your first page

Create a New page, give it a title, and start typing. There's no save button to worry about: Snugnote saves as you write, and the status at the top tells you when your page is saved to your Drive or Dropbox. If you like to be sure, ⌘S (CtrlS on Windows) saves right away.

Type / on an empty line to add something other than text: a heading, a to-do list, a table, an image, a callout and more. The writing guide covers them all.

4. Bring the notes you already have

Click Import notes in the sidebar. You can connect Notion, or drop in a Notion export, Markdown files or a whole folder. See how to move from Notion for the details.

5. Make it comfy

The theme button at the bottom of the sidebar switches between light, dark, or following your system. Each page can also have its own icon, font and width.

Good to know: Snugnote is open on one device at a time, so your notes never get mixed up. If you open it somewhere else, the first device pauses and offers Use here instead. More on how that works.
