How to move from Notion to Snugnote
Moving to Snugnote doesn't mean starting over. Your Notion pages, databases and images can come along, and they end up as files in your own Google Drive or Dropbox. There are two ways to do it.
Before you start
Sign in to Snugnote with the storage you want your notes in. Coming straight from the homepage? Choose Coming from Notion?, pick Google Drive or Dropbox, and Snugnote opens the Notion import for you once you're signed in.
Option 1: Connect Notion (the easiest)
- Click Import notes in the sidebar, then Connect Notion.
- A Notion window opens. Choose the pages Snugnote may read. Snugnote only sees the pages you share with it there.
- Snugnote copies those pages, including their subpages, databases and images, into your Snugnote folder.
Option 2: Upload a Notion export
- In Notion, export your workspace or a page. Both Markdown & CSV and HTML exports work.
- In Snugnote, click Import notes and drop the
.zipfile Notion gave you onto Drop files or folders here, or click Choose files. - Keep the window open while Snugnote reads your files. When it's done, it tells you how many pages and databases were added.
The same upload box also takes plain Markdown files and whole folders, so notes from other apps can come along too.
What it costs
- Free: one Notion import, plus Markdown and desktop imports any time.
- Premium ($5.99/month or $59.99/year): unlimited Notion imports, and Sync from Notion to pull in changes whenever you like. Handy if you want to keep using Notion for a while as you settle in.
After the move
Your imported pages appear in the sidebar right away, and search covers them too. Snugnote is a calmer, personal notebook rather than a full team workspace, so if you rely on real-time collaboration, read how Snugnote compares to Notion first.
