Guides · How to move from Notion
A Notion alternative that keeps your notes in your own cloud
Snugnote is a cozy, Notion-style notebook. The difference: every page is saved as a file in your own Google Drive or Dropbox, not on our servers. If you like how Notion feels but want your notes to belong to you, it was made for you.
Why people look for a Notion alternative
- Where your notes live. In most note apps, your notes sit on the company's servers. In Snugnote they're files in a "Snugnote" folder in your own storage.
- Another subscription. Snugnote is free to use, with unlimited pages and subpages. Premium ($5.99/month or $59.99/year) is only needed for live sync from Notion and repeat imports.
- Something calmer. Pages, subpages, tables, to-dos, callouts and search, without a whole team workspace around them.

Move from Notion in minutes
- Pick your storage. Sign in with Google Drive or Dropbox. Snugnote makes one folder there and only ever touches that folder.
- Bring your notes. Connect your Notion account, or drop in a Notion export. Pages, databases and images come along.
- Write in peace. Everything is in your Snugnote folder, ready to search and edit.
The free plan includes one Notion import, plus Markdown and desktop imports. Premium adds unlimited Notion imports and live sync from Notion, so you can keep using both while you decide.
Private by design
Snugnote only asks for access to its own folder. With Google Drive it uses the drive.file permission, so it can't see any other file in your Drive. In Dropbox the folder is Apps › Snugnote. Details are on the privacy page.
When Notion is the better choice
Snugnote is a personal notebook. If you need real-time collaboration with a team, or Snugnote open on several devices at the same moment, Notion will suit you better. Snugnote works on one device at a time, so your notes never get mixed up. Your storage provider's quota also still applies.
