Writing in Snugnote: pages, blocks and styles
Snugnote's editor works in blocks, the way Notion does: every paragraph, list, table or image is a block you can add, move and change. Here's everything you can do with them.
The / menu
On an empty line, type / to open the block menu. Keep typing to filter it, for example /table or /todo, and press Enter. From there you can add:
- Headings to give a long page some structure
- Bulleted, numbered and check lists, for to-dos you can tick off
- Toggle lists to tuck details away until you need them
- Tables for anything with rows and columns
- Callouts to make a note stand out
- Code blocks and quotes
- Images, which are saved into your Snugnote folder alongside the page
Pages inside pages
Any page can hold other pages. In the sidebar, use Add a page inside on a page to create a subpage, and the sidebar tree grows with it. It's a natural way to keep a project, a class or a trip together in one place.
Databases
Databases you bring over from Notion come along as tables of rows. Use Filter rows… to narrow a big one down to what you're looking for.
Make each page your own
- Icon: click Change icon and search for an emoji, or paste any emoji you like.
- Style: open the page's ••• menu to choose a font, turn on Small text, or make the page Full width.
- Theme: the button at the bottom of the sidebar switches between light, dark, or following your system.
Saving and deleting
Snugnote saves as you type, straight to your Google Drive or Dropbox. ⌘S (CtrlS on Windows) saves immediately. Deleting a page moves it, and any pages inside it, to a trash folder inside your Snugnote folder, so it can still be recovered.
